Part 1 - Into the
woods
Heart
and feet pounding furiously, Alfred fled under the trees. He could hear the
crash and clamour of his pursuers, but he dare not look around.
If
he could just reach home, he’d be safe.
“Hey!
Come back ‘ere!” a voice shouted.
Mama would be angry, of course. He had been sent to fetch
water and was neither coming back with water nor the bucket she had given him.
In his need to flee from his tormenters he’d dropped it at the well. His panic rises,
but that is not what she will be most angry about. She had told him
never to go too deep into the forest.
And here he was, blindly running straight into it.
“Half
breed—“
“—Bastard!”
another child helpfully finished off.
He
was afraid of the woods, all the children were. He didn’t even realise he’d
entered them until it was too late. The pursuit began and he had committed to
his present course.
He
ducked as a rotten fruit whistled past his ear. Alfred instinctively turned his
head. That was close, too—
Omegaverse but instead of Alfred being an oblivious alpha, Arthur is an oblivious omega.
So they’ve been friends forever and nothing more until they start university. Arthur starts stealing Alfred’s clothes without realizing it, gets really territorial when other omegas are around, and is absolutely disgusted when another alpha even gets near him. But he’s still completely oblivious.
Alfred finds the whole thing cute and is just biding his time until he confesses his feelings and puts them out of their misery lol.
